A third individual, Ayob Nasser, 19, from Dearborn, Michigan, was arrested by the FBI in connection with an alleged ISIS terrorism case. This arrest follows charges earlier this week against two other Dearborn residents, Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud. The three are accused of conspiring to provide material support to ISIS and possessing firearms intended for use in a terrorist act on behalf of the group.

The amended complaint outlines allegations that the suspects planned a terror plot involving AR-style rifles, shotguns, handguns, and other equipment suitable for a tactical assault.

U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr., commented on the ongoing investigation: “We will not stop. We will follow the tentacles where they lead. We will continue to stand guard with the FBI against terrorism.”

Jennifer Runyan, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office, stated: “FBI Detroit and its Joint Terrorism Task Force will continue to investigate, arrest, and disrupt all attempts or plots to do harm to our residents or to anyone within the United States,” adding: “Nothing will stop us from working with our law enforcement partners, including the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan, to accomplish our mission of defending the homeland and upholding the constitution.”

Authorities noted that their investigation is ongoing.

It was also emphasized that a criminal complaint is only an allegation at this stage; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court. Additional details about the amended complaint can be found at https://www.justice.gov/usao-edmi under News.
