Shalesh Beri has filed a lawsuit against BetMGM, LLC and MGM Grand Detroit, LLC in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The case, filed on November 14, 2025, alleges that the defendants unlawfully sent gambling promotional emails to Beri throughout 2025 despite his inclusion on Michigan’s Disassociated Persons List and Responsible Gaming Database. Beri claims this conduct violated Michigan law and caused him emotional distress, among other damages. He is seeking compensatory damages exceeding $500,000, as well as punitive and statutory damages.

Beri argues that despite placing himself on exclusion lists to avoid gambling promotions, he received numerous solicitations from January to September 2025. The complaint accuses the defendants of negligence, invasion of privacy, fraud, and gross negligence. Beri is representing himself in this legal action.
