In a recent court filing in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, Robert Smith has initiated a collective and class action lawsuit against Morrison Industrial, LLC. The case, filed on November 4, 2025, accuses Morrison Industrial of failing to pay overtime wages and other compensation due under federal and state laws. Smith claims that Morrison engaged in practices such as deducting meal breaks from employee hours even when work was performed during those times, as well as “time shaving,” which reduced recorded hours worked by employees. The lawsuit seeks to recover unpaid wages, liquidated damages, and attorneys’ fees for Smith and other similarly situated employees across Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio, and nationwide under various labor statutes.
