In a recent court filing in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, five plaintiffs have brought a civil action against Pecks Roofing LLC and its member Tamitha Peck. The plaintiffs, Rigoberto Adolfo Perez Perez, Godofredo Ramirez Monjarez, Francisco Morales Santiz, Leonardo Morales Lopez, and Josue Gomez Mendez, allege that the defendants failed to pay them minimum wage and overtime as required by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Michigan’s Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act (IWOWA). The complaint details that during their employment as roofers from January 2024 to January 2025, they were not compensated adequately for hours worked beyond forty per week and faced significant delays in payment. The plaintiffs are seeking unpaid wages, liquidated damages, attorney fees, and other relief.
