Pamela Bailey, a former employee of a medical management company, has filed a lawsuit alleging age discrimination following her termination. The complaint was lodged by Bailey in the Circuit Court for the County of Oakland, Michigan on September 24, 2025, against U.S. Medical Management, LLC doing business as HarmonyCares. The case has since been moved to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

The lawsuit centers around allegations that Bailey was wrongfully terminated due to her age, violating the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act. According to the complaint, Bailey had been employed by U.S. Medical Management since April 2011 and was dismissed from her position in October 2024 at the age of 69. Her termination followed significant changes in management and departmental operations under a new manager, Danelle Davis. Bailey claims that these changes led to an unsustainable workload and that she was unfairly placed on performance improvement plans without adequate support or training.

Bailey asserts that she was replaced by a significantly younger colleague after her dismissal, which she argues is indicative of age discrimination. She highlights that during her tenure with the company’s Accounts Payable Department, she held substantial seniority and experience compared to her peers but faced undue scrutiny and expectations following managerial changes.

The plaintiff seeks damages exceeding $75,000 for both economic losses such as lost benefits and non-economic damages including emotional distress caused by what she describes as unlawful employment practices. Additionally, Bailey is requesting compensation for legal costs incurred during this litigation process.

Representing Pamela Bailey are attorneys Victor J. Mastromarco Jr. and Kevin Kelly from The Mastromarco Firm based in Saginaw, Michigan. On behalf of U.S. Medical Management, attorneys Gary C. Ankers and Jessica G. Kingston from Littler Mendelson P.C., located in Detroit, are handling the defense. The case is being overseen by Judge Jacob J. Cunningham under Case ID 2:25-cv-13807-BRM-APP.
