Idrees Madni has filed a lawsuit against Contemporary Amperex Technology (USA), Inc. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The complaint alleges that Madni, who was employed as a Sales Engineer, faced religious and national origin discrimination after informing his employer that he could not attend a business trip due to Ramadan. Following this, Madni claims he was treated differently from his non-Muslim colleagues, denied travel opportunities regularly granted to others, and ultimately terminated from his position. The lawsuit cites violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act. Madni seeks compensatory damages, exemplary and punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, and other relief.
