Spencer Moore has taken legal action against a major automotive corporation, alleging retaliation and wrongful termination following his complaints of sexual harassment. The lawsuit was filed by Moore in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on November 17, 2025, targeting Ford Motor Company as the defendant.
The complaint outlines a series of events beginning with Moore’s employment at Ford, where he transitioned from a contract worker in 2016 to a full-time employee in 2017 at the Sterling Axle Plant. Moore claims that his troubles began when he reported sexual harassment by his supervisor, Tawanna Rankin, who allegedly made inappropriate inquiries about his personal life and created a hostile work environment. Despite reporting these incidents to Ford and filing grievances through his union, Moore asserts that the company failed to address the situation adequately.
Moore’s allegations detail a pattern of retaliatory behavior from both Rankin and another supervisor, Cecelia Berry. According to Moore, after he rejected Rankin’s advances and reported her conduct, Berry engaged in systematic retaliation by withholding important job information from him, manipulating work assignments to disadvantage him, and fostering an environment of intimidation. These actions reportedly culminated in false accusations against Moore leading to disciplinary actions and ultimately his termination.
The plaintiff contends that Ford violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act by retaliating against him for opposing sexual harassment. He is seeking compensation for lost wages, emotional distress, and other damages deemed appropriate by the court. The case underscores significant issues regarding workplace harassment policies and employer responsibilities in addressing such complaints.
Representing Spencer Moore are attorneys Eric Stempien and Mallorie M. Blaylock-Danna from Stempien Law PLLC. The case is being presided over by Judge Linda V. Parker under Case ID 2:25-cv-13651-LVP-Cl.
