Ellie Kovacs, formerly known as Allisha Kovacs, has filed a lawsuit against Oakland Physicians Medical Center, L.L.C. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The case centers around alleged violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Michigan Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act. Kovacs claims that after submitting a medical note requesting accommodations due to her lumbar and hip issues, she was denied reasonable accommodations by her employer, demoted, and constructively terminated from her position at Pontiac General Hospital. She is seeking damages for lost wages, emotional distress, and other losses.
