In a recent court filing, Dajuan Fanning has initiated legal action against Lake (Bloomfield) TRS LLC, Life Care Services, LLC, and LCS Holdings, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The case centers around allegations of wrongful termination under the Michigan Whistleblowers’ Protection Act and other related claims. Fanning, a licensed practical nurse and former Director of Health Services at Bloomfield’s senior care facility, asserts that he was terminated after reporting an abuse incident involving an elderly resident to state authorities. Despite his legal obligation as a mandated reporter to report such incidents, Fanning claims that his employers retaliated against him by suspending and ultimately terminating his employment under false pretenses. The lawsuit seeks compensatory damages exceeding $75,000 along with other forms of relief.
