In a recent filing with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Arnold Kuerbitz has initiated a civil action against multiple defendants, including Tim Greimel, Jack McIntyre, Briana Fields, Dewayne Watkins, and several unknown employees of the City of Pontiac. The case, assigned to Judge Judith E. Levy and referred to Judge Anthony P. Patti, was filed on November 10, 2025.

Kuerbitz alleges violations of his federal civil rights under 42 U.S.C. §1983 and related statutes. The complaint details grievances related to property code violations issued by the city officials which Kuerbitz claims were unfounded and retaliatory in nature. The plaintiff is seeking injunctive relief and damages amounting to $1 million.

Kuerbitz’s claims include accusations that city officials conspired to violate his rights by issuing vague ordinances and imposing fines without due process. He further alleges that these actions are part of a broader pattern of discrimination against disabled senior citizens in Pontiac.

The lawsuit highlights incidents dating back to March 2018 when similar charges were dismissed against another citizen. Kuerbitz contends that the city’s actions are motivated by revenue generation tactics rather than legitimate code enforcement.
